There’s always a reason for a get together! And it helps people get excited about going when there’s a reason to get together.
Of course there are the classic reasons - Birthday, 4th of July, Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc.
But you can always find a theme to add some intrigue to an event you’re putting together. Here are some ideas:
- Seasonal - Fryin’ in July!
- Colors - it’s a Blue Party (blue’s my favorite color)
- Eras - roaring 20s, 80s, etc.
- Cause - collect donations for a food pantry, shelter, etc.
- Costume/Character - make it about pirates, or business suits, or athletic gear
- Activity - game night, picnic in the park, murder mystery, whatever you’re going to be doing together
I’ll be honest, I haven’t really done this much myself except unconsciously (a lot of marriage and baby-related theme parties in my recent history), but I’m going to give it a shot for our next get-together we host.
